Ground Noise Restrictions

Some foreign airports are extremely noise sensitive and it is very important for crewmembers to be aware and to comply with the restrictions in order to avoid financial penalties and airport bans.

 

You can expect that any airport in Europe will have some guidance on noise limitations. Flight crewmembers should reference the airport pages in Jeppesen Flight Deck, the handling and briefing notes and speak directly to your handler. There have been many occasions where the briefing notes will state the APU must only be started 30 minutes prior to departure, however, the handler will tell you that you can disregard the restriction.
